This is a key role in the Data Risk team with responsibility for providing monitoring and reporting of the Data Risk profile, including Data Management, Data Privacy, 3rd Party Management, Model Management and Data Ethics. The Senior Data Risk Analyst will need to coordinate Risk Mitigation activities, requiring excellent stakeholder management skills, engaging members of Data, Data Engineering, Technology and Information Security. The Senior Data Risk Analyst will need to exhibit a broad understanding of Data Governance and Privacy, and the appropriate regulatory framework to ensure that company practices align to relevant policy, standards and legislation. The Senior Data Risk Analyst will also need to promote a culture of Risk Management and specifically Data Risk awareness across the company. The Senior Data Risk Analyst will need to report against Key Risk and Control Indicators, communicating with stakeholders, coordinating remediation activity. Key to this role is the ability to interpret technical information, in the context of the regulatory and legislative frameworks, and to work collaboratively to investigate and implement solutions.

Some of the great things you’ll do:
• Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of Data’s Risk position, as well as reporting against the progress of appropriate Risk Mitigation activities, including working with 2nd Line for appropriate challenge and development.
• Maintenance and development of the Data Risk Framework to ensure that Data Risk has an effective Risk Mitigation plan in place to remain within Risk Appetite.
• Monitoring and management of Incidents, working with stakeholders to understand and resolve Incidents, and consider mitigation actions.
• Champion a culture of Risk Management across Data Management and Data Privacy.
• Working with the Data Protection Office to ensure that upcoming regulatory requirements are reflected, and that appropriate Legal opinion is sought and incorporated into Data Risk.
• Engage with other departments to scan for potential Risk items through the Data Design Authority and the Artificial Intelligence Design Authority.
• Provide support for the Data Maturity Programme Board & Executive Risk Forum.
• Represent Data Risk in Data Privacy Incidents and Customer Ops complaints and queries, providing relevant expert advice on CtM and Data’s risk appetite, to resolve incidents and complaints, and to support subsequent retrospectives/root cause analyses.
• Conduct Control Testing & Validation as per annual plans as agreed with 2nd Line.
• Conduct regular reviews of Causes, Risks, Impacts, Controls and Indicators in agreement with 2nd Line.
What we’d like to see from you:
• Experience within Financial Services or other regulated environment.
• An understanding of Audit or Control Validation & Assurance
• Industry recognized professional qualification; eg PIIA, IRMCert, CISM, CISSP, CISA, CIPP/E would be preferred, but not essential
• Self motivated & works under own initiative.
• Intellectual curiosity
• Qualification or relevant experience in Risk Management
• Awareness of Data and Data Privacy, plus relevant legislation and regulation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Good organizational and management skills
