Our purpose is to make great financial decision making a breeze for everyone, and that purpose drives us every day.
It’s why we’re on a mission to create an automated quoting engine, with the simplest of experiences, wrapped in a brand everyone loves!
We change lives by making it simple to switch and save money and that’s why good things happen when you meerkat.
We’d love you to be part of our journey.
We’re looking for an experienced and highly analytical Technical Automation Analyst to join our Business Process Architecture & Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team at Compare the Market. This role is critical in identifying automation opportunities and reengineering back-office processes to drive operational efficiency and scalability.
You’ll work at the intersection of technology and operations—partnering with stakeholders to understand business challenges, translate requirements into robust documentation, and design fit-for-purpose solutions with RPA and adjacent technologies (e.g. APIs, SaaS platforms, low-code tools).
You’ll bring a strong understanding of how automation technologies like UiPath, Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere work, coupled with sharp automation analysis skills and a mindset that challenges the status quo.
Everyone is welcome.
We have a culture of creativity. We approach our work passionately, improve constantly and celebrate our wins at every turn. We are an inclusive workplace and our employees are comfortable bringing their authentic, whole selves to work. Everyone is welcome. Be you.
This means we’re excited to hear from people with a range of skills, experiences and ideas. We don’t expect you to tick all the boxes, but would love to hear what makes you great for this role.
Some of the great things you’ll be doing:
Process Analysis & Design
• Engage with process owners and SMEs across the business to perform structured requirements elicitation using workshops, interviews, and documentation reviews.
• Analyse existing processes to produce high-quality As-Is process maps using BPMN or similar standards.
• Work with stakeholders to design To-Be processes that reflect improved workflows, automation fit, and re-engineered paths to efficiency.
• Challenge current ways of working and propose new approaches that maximise automation and remove non-value-adding steps.
Automation Opportunity Assessment
• Identify and evaluate candidate processes for RPA and other automation technologies.
• Use structured frameworks to assess feasibility, complexity, and potential business value.
• Collaborate with RPA developers to validate technical viability, potential exception scenarios, and infrastructure considerations.
• Maintain the automation opportunity backlog and contribute to prioritisation based on ROI, effort, and alignment to strategic objectives.
Documentation & Delivery Support
• Produce detailed Technical Design Documents (TDDs) to support RPA development, including process descriptions, business rules, exception handling, and input/output data models.
• Support the RPA development team during build and test phases—clarifying requirements, validating logic, and managing changes.
• Contribute to test planning and execution, ensuring bots behave as expected and deliver business value.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Facilitation
• Work across business units to understand operational pain points and surface automation ideas from grassroots to leadership.
• Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs with developers, process owners and testing teams.
• Support change management activities by contributing to training materials, user guides, and process adoption planning.
What we’d like to see from you:
Technical Knowledge
• Solid understanding of RPA concepts and tools, particularly UiPath (REFramework, orchestrator/control room functions, attended/unattended bots, logging and error handling).
• Awareness of broader automation and integration approaches (e.g. APIs, low-code platforms like Workato or Power Automate).
• Ability to understand and describe technical system behaviours in non-technical terms for business users—and vice versa.
Automation Analysis Excellence
• Deep experience in requirements gathering, process mapping (AS-IS and TO-BE) and use of structured frameworks such as BPMN.
• Skilled in producing detailed documentation—TDDs, user stories, process diagrams, impact assessments, and business cases.
• Ability to break down complex workflows into logical, manageable components, capturing business rules and exception paths accurately.
Critical Thinking & Influence
• Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders and process owners constructively on assumptions, rules and inefficiencies.
• Strong commercial mindset—able to link automation and process changes to measurable business outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable Experience
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with process mining tools (e.g., Celonis, UiPath Process Mining).
• Agile delivery experience and exposure to Jira, Confluence or similar tools.
There’s something for everyone.
We’re a place of opportunity. You’ll have the tools and autonomy to drive your own career, supported by a team of amazingly talented people.
And then there’s our benefits. For us, it’s not just about a competitive salary and hybrid working, we care about what matters to you. From a generous holiday allowance and private healthcare to an electric car scheme and paid development, wellbeing and CSR days, we’ve pretty much got you covered!
